At Alpha Gen, we’re committed to establishing and maintaining the trust of our customers, website visitors, landing page visitors, and mailing list subscribers. In part, that’s about being transparent about how we treat the information we collect when you do business with us, use our website, or subscribe to receive information.
When you visit www.alpha-gen.co.uk, we use two third-party services, Google Analytics and Lead Forensics to collect standard internet log information. Things like how long you visited us for, the pages you looked at, where you’re based, and – in some cases – your company or organisation name using reverse IP lookup.
Links to other websites
We’ll sometimes link from our website to other websites that might be useful or interesting. They’re not operated by us and not governed by this privacy notice. For more information, review their individual privacy policies.
We’re in the security business, so you can be sure we’re committed to keep your information secure. That’s why we encrypt connections to our website, safeguarding the information we collect and preventing unauthorised access, disclosure, or interception.
Newsletter and information sign up
To send our quarterly newsletter and regular emails, we need personal information like:
- Your first name and last name
- The company you work for
- Your email address
We’ll use it in a few different ways. Mainly, it’s about telling you the stuff you asked us to tell you about. Sometimes, we may also tell you about vendors we work with, product news, incentives and marketing campaigns you can use to generate leads.
We think it’s all very useful – and very relevant. But if you don’t feel the same, you can unsubscribe at any time. Use the ‘Unsubscribe Instantly’ link at the top or bottom of our emails, or email our Data Protection Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you choose to unsubscribe, we’ll be sorry to see you go. But we’ll make sure you don’t receive any more marketing information – we’ll only retain your email address so it can be added to our exclusion list.
We use landing pages to give you things you might find useful. That includes information, vendor data sheets, eBooks, trial software and deal registration. It’s also where you’ll RSVP to attend a webinar or event.
On those landing pages, we collect the information we absolutely need to fulfil your request. We also ask for your consent to send additional information we think you’ll be interested in. You can decline if you like – you’ll still get the information you’ve asked for, but you won’t receive any subsequent marketing emails.
Sometimes, we get clever and link our vendor-specific campaigns with the vendor’s customer relationship management (CRM) system. If that’s the case, we’ll specifically ask for consent on behalf of the vendor – and, again, if you decline you’ll still get the information you wanted.
It’s our goal to run an efficient business and provide a good, responsive service. To do that, we sometimes determine we have a legitimate interest in the absence of specific consent. This is used to communicate with you when:
- You make an enquiry
- You place an order
- You request technical support
- You request marketing support
In short, if it’s critical to fulfilling an agreement or our work as a business, we’ll go ahead and get in touch. Everywhere else, we’ll continue to ask for specific consent wherever possible.
A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. Once you agree, it becomes a unique identifier and may also include information about your usage or your preferences. That’s how websites and web applications can analyse traffic, see how often you visit as an individual, or tailor themselves to your needs, likes and dislikes.
We use traffic log cookies – files that identify which pages are being used. These help us analyse our traffic and improve our website by tailoring it to the visitor trends we see. We only use this information for statistical analysis and then remove it from the system.
Cookies mean we can monitor which pages you find useful. They don’t give us any access to your computer or any information about you, other than data you have chosen to share with us.
You can choose to accept or decline cookies – although accepting them offers the better experience. Your web browser probably accepts them by default, but that’s easily changed in your browser settings.
